Mareuil en Périgord

Located 20 minutes from the beautiful town of Brantome (“the prettiest town in the Dordogne”), 35 minutes from the spectacular city of Angouleme, and 80 minutes from the large medieval town of Bergerac, La Belle Maison is a recently upgraded French farmhouse located in the village of Mareuil.

Mareuil en Périgord is a village in the Dordogne which sits on the La Belle river in the Aquitaine region, 40 km north-west of Perigueux and bordering the department of Charente. It boasts 4 bars/restaurants, a castle, a pharmacy, medical centre, two supermarkets, a small street market, and many other local shops and businesses. There is also the weekly visit of the fish and chip van!

The house itself is located 10 minutes walk from the centre of the village (c1300 residents) and 5 minutes from the local spar supermarket. The town is a paradise for lovers of hiking with no less than 13 marked trails, with mountain bikers also having many circuits crisscrossing these green landscapes available.

Property Rules

  • No parties or events allowed.
  • No unregistered guests or visitors allowed. The maximum property capacity is 12 people.
  • No smoking allowed inside the house. Cigarette butts must be disposed of in the ashtray provided in the rear patio at the back of the property.
  • Pets are only allowed by prior agreement.
  • Suitable for toddlers and children under 12.
  • Please don’t eat or drink in the bedrooms.
  • No breakable glasses or plates around the pool area.
  • Please respect the neighbours. Quiet time after 11 p.m.
  • Please wash the dishes and throw out the rubbish before checkout. Separating recycling and normal waste.
  • Make sure to turn off the lights and any electronics when you leave the house. Don’t forget to close shutters, the windows and lock the doors.
  • The use of the log burner is under adult supervision only.
  • Report any damages and/or breakages in a reasonably timely manner. Damages exceeding the security deposit amount must be paid by guests and will be reported to the owner.
  • Please leave the keys in the same place where you find them.
  • Check in time is at 3:00pm and check out is a 11:00am. Any time after this it will count as an extra day. Unless it has been pre-arranged.

Cancellation policy

  • 100% refund within 24 hours after booking (provided the stay is at least 60 days away).
  • 50% refund of the amount paid (minus the booking fee*) if cancelled at least 8 weeks before check-in.
  • 25% refund of the amount paid (minus the booking fee*) if cancelled at least 4 weeks before check-in.
  • No refund if cancelled less than 4 weeks before check-in.
